Outstanding Academic Performance is expected
for all members of the
Mountain View Marching Band
All members of the the Mountain View Marching
Band are expected to maintain the band's tradition of outstanding
academic achievement. During recent marching seasons (the
1st 9 weeks of the school year), the marching band
members earned a
grade point average of 3.79 on a standard 4-point scale. Of
approximately 90
students involved, 41 were enrolled in AP, IB, CGS or Honors
courses, which provide "weighted" grades. 38 members had a GPA above 4.0 and only
6 had a GPA
below 3.0 at the conclusion of the marching band season.
The Mountain View Marching Band encourages a
culture of high expectations and high achievement for every member.
Students are required to present report cards and interim reports to the Director of
Bands each time they are distributed. Additionally, all
faculty members at MVHS are given a list of marching band students
and requested to notify the Director if any band student is not
working to a high level of achievement. |
